Federal Govt Can No Longer Ask About Criminal History On Job Applications Thanks To Obama Executive Order

President Obama is at it again.
After using the power of the pen to circumvent Congress on immigration, Obamacare, and gay rights (to name a few), the president now has his sights set on making it easier for convicted felons to get jobs.
From Breitbart:
Nice to see the president finally addressing the awful employment climate that his policies have created but it’s a little unusual that convicted felons are at the top of his list of people to help out.
His argument is basically that it isn’t fair for employers, in this case the government, to ask applicants whether or not they are felons on the actual application form.
In reality, this box on the application simply provides the employer a way to save time and energy rather than fully vetting a candidate and going through the process only to find out later that he or she has been convicted of a violent crime. Something that employers typically shy away from. And rightfully so.
This move amounts to nothing more than yet another reaffirmation that the president has absolutely no respect for doing things the way our founders intended and it reminds us once again that this administration is only concerned with optics and creating the illusion they are looking out for the little guy.
When in actuality, the little guy is getting stepped on at every turn.

After using the power of the pen to circumvent Congress on immigration, Obamacare, and gay rights (to name a few), the president now has his sights set on making it easier for convicted felons to get jobs.
From Breitbart:
The White House is unveiling an executive order from President Obama instructing all federal government agencies to remove admission of a criminal history from job applications.
The proposal, described as “banning the box,” would delay an investigation into a potential employee’s criminal history until later in the process instead of the job application form.
“While most agencies already have taken this step, this action will better ensure that applicants from all segments of society, including those with prior criminal histories, receive a fair opportunity to compete for Federal employment,” noted a fact sheet released by the White House this morning.
Obama’s emphasis on assisting criminals who want to re-enter society are part of his continuing agenda items from his “My Brother’s Keeper Task Force” an initiative he wants to continue long after he leaves office in 2017.
