Removal of DOMA Law Reverts Marriage Back to STATE

In the simplest terms...
I would like to bring to your attention the DOMA law (Defense of Marriage Act) enacted by Congress in 1996 and signed by Bill Clinton. This federal law, in a nut shell, prohibited marriage licenses to be issued to same-sex couples.
Now, fast forward to June of 2015, when the Supreme Court, essentially, revoked that law (which, according to our constitution, does NOT have the right to do - they can only 'interpret' or serve opinions on laws); but I digress.
Prior to the DOMA law, the issue of marriage licences were upheld by the States. If the peoples of a state voted for or against gay marriage, state laws were legally enacted accordingly (with the exception of California whose citizens voted twice against gay marriage in which the 9th district court overturned).
Now, I won't get into the issue of why 'marriage' shouldn't even be a state issue either (marriage is a religious institution robbed by the states right around the turn of the century) but I will espouse a FACT.
When the SCOTUS illegally 'revoked', for lack of a better word, the DOMA law, the issue of marriage then reverted back to the STATE.
So, if the citizens of a state, prior to the DOMA law, voted against gay marriage, then licenses can only be issued to couples made up of one man and one woman.
I tried to keep this as simple as possible so as not to convolute the issue because I am simply SICK AND TIRED of hearing the same old arguments by the Left and gay marriage activists - YOU ARE WRONG! There is NOT a federal law allowing gay marriage. Gay marriage is NOT the 'law of the land'.
Now, I can get back to my day!
